Giant Bean Bag Chairs, Foam Bags, and Lovesacs

So what is the big craze about Giant Bean Bag Chairs, and why are they so da## expensive?

After all, its just a bean bag, right? Well, according to Lovesac's motto "Its not a damn bean bag" - perhaps a love sack is not a da## bean bag, but that's not to say bean bags are bad.

The old bean bag chairs (which are still sold like crazy everywhere because they're so cheap) are filled with small styrofoam beads. They're cheap because most bean bag chairs are made with cheap vinyl covers and the styrofoam bead are also dirt cheap. So you have an inexpensive product made out of average quality materials. So you wouldn't expect to pay a lot.

Well then what the heck is a Giant Bean Bag Chair? Is it just a giant regular bean bag chair? Well...most of the products out their that are labels as "giant bean bag chairs" are actually products similar to the popular Lovesac product. Basically, its similar to bean bag chairs in concept, but they're made with much high quality materials.

For example, the fill is shredded foam, which is very comfortable and soft. The outer cover is usually made with microsuede or microfiber, and it is extremely soft and comfortable. So "giant bean bag chairs" are usually referring to this higher quality product made with better, more comfortable materials. These better materials are also more expensive, and so the product costs more. But not only is the product more comfortable, but it will last longer and be the only chair you want to sit on in your home.
